May 1st we found out that our lives would be forever changed.Being pregnant was one of the best experiences I have gone through. I was lucky in many ways throughout the entire pregnancy. First, I was able to share the experience with two of my best friends who were pregnant at the same time I was, giving me someone else who didn’t mind talking about pregnancy and babies for the entire 9 months.

I didn’t have any morning sickness throughout the first trimester, and was able to continue life as normal for the most part. This was extremely helpful as I was in the process of training for my first 1/2 marathon. At the end of June I was able to run the entire 13.1 miles in my 12th week of pregnancy.

At the end of July we made the trek to Cancun, Mexico to celebrate Tim and Jen getting married. I had a great time relaxing in the sun by the pool, although it was interesting to be the only one who couldn't drink.

Throughout the first half of my pregnancy most people, Brandon included, had let me know that they were sure I was having a boy. At the end of August, our little one proved everyone wrong when we found out that we were having a girl. Needless to say, some serious shopping began.

Realizing she would be coming in a few months we decided to do some traveling and made our way down to San Diego to see the Ramirez's in October. This was our last hurrah before the serious planning and preparations began.

The holiday season seemed like a blur as we set up the nursery and were focused on getting everything ready for the big day. Near the end I had many sleepless nights as I was unable to get comfortable, but I was always able to stay active, positive, and was able to work (and wear my heels) up until the day before I went into labor.

During the pregnancy it felt like time went so slow as I waiting in anticipation for our little girl, but looking back it went so fast, and I will say I am looking forward to doing it again…in a while.
